Jackson Township Kitchen

This first-floor renovation in Jackson Township brought the kitchen, laundry room, powder room, living room and foyer together under one cohesive design. From the initial consultation, it was no question that this kitchen needed to be an open concept space. A closed and choppy floor plan made accessing the kitchen and laundry room feel as though you were passing through a maze. With the walls removed and the arched openings built, this home finally felt perfect. The expansive island with a built-in banquette was the base for the kitchen design. This has now become a favorite place to eat meals, study and do homework, and host many family game nights. The dark painted finish is just what the new space needed to feel grounded. In contrast, the kitchen perimeter features a natural stained, quartersawn white oak cabinet, light quartz countertops, and a zellige tiled backsplash. We built a custom, plaster range hood that stands out against the tile. Brushed gold finishes, natural elements, and many mixed textures give the eye something new to discover every time. The new laundry room features adjustable pull-out drying racks, open shelving for laundry baskets, and tall storage for everyday supplies. We washed the wall behind the powder room vanity in the same zellige tile as the flooring. By incorporating this design element, we gave an accent to the wall mounted faucet, oversized mirror and sconce lighting. Even the smallest room in the house needs a dedicated moment! Featured throughout the project are Haute Designs Signature cabinetry. We partnered with Howell Contracting on this renovation.
